Secure Cargo Training Course Overview

TLIA1001 – Secure cargo is a comprehensive training program designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills required to safely and effectively secure various types of cargo for transportation. It includes preparing to secure cargo/containers, lashing and unlashing cargo, protecting cargo from weather and packing and unpacking cargo. This course is ideal for individuals involved in logistics, warehousing, transportation, and supply chain operations. It focuses on the best practices, regulations, and techniques necessary to ensure that cargo remains secure throughout the entire shipping process.

Target Audience

The target audience for the TLIA1001 – Secure cargo includes individuals who are directly or indirectly involved in the transportation, logistics, and supply chain industries. This course is designed to benefit a range of professionals and personnel, including:

  • Logistics and supply chain professionals
  • Warehouse and distribution centre personnel
  • Transportation and trucking companies
  • Cargo handlers and shippers
  • Safety and compliance officers

Course Delivery

Face to face training and assessment is conducted at one of Link Resources purpose built training facilities. Upon arrangement, training and assessment can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.

Outcomes of Secure Cargo Training

Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Link Resources Training Pty Ltd (RTO 45483).

Entry Requirements

All students must be literate in the English language (no interpreters allowed). All students must be physically capable of operating machinery or equipment required to securing cargo.

At enquiry, students can enter the program by expressing an interest and being sent an information pack that contains a booking notification and course information (Course Brochure). This interest process enables the RTO and client to work together to ensure the course is suitable for them and to identify any additional support needs and make adequate provisions.

No pre-requisites exist for this Unit of Competency.

Pathways

Training & Education Pathways: After achieving this unit of competency students may undertake a range of associated construction, resources, logistics and warehousing units and qualifications.

Employment Pathways: After achieving this unit of competency students may seek employment in warehousing, manufacturing, construction, resources and transport industries.
