Load & Unload Goods Training Course Overview
This nationally recognised course covers both the theoretical and practical aspects of Loading and Unloading Cargo/Goods. The delivery will include the skills and knowledge required to load and unload goods and cargo in accordance with relevant state/territory roads and traffic authority regulations/permit requirements, securing and protecting a load and completing all required documentation. Undertaking load and unload cargo/goods training will involve the following:
- Lifting aids and appliance selection (in accordance with workplace procedures and safety legislation)
- Unloading activities (conducted in a safe and efficient manner taking into account suitable locations, stowage, safe use of equipment and balance of remaining load)
- Identifying goods that require special handling and/or documentation
- Securing a load using correct load restraint and protection equipment for different loads, carrying and storage conditions
- Job hazard identification
The target audience for this training and assessment may vary from personnel in the warehousing, manufacturing, construction, resources and transport industries who perform any loading and unloading duties.
Face to face training and assessment is conducted at one of Link Resources purpose built training facilities. Upon arrangement, training and assessment can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.

Outcomes of Load and Unload Goods Training
Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Link Resources Training Pty Ltd (RTO 45483).

All students must be literate in the English language (no interpreters allowed).All students must be physically capable of operating machinery or equipment required to load and unload cargo.
At enquiry, students can enter the program by expressing an interest and being sent an information pack that contains a booking notification and course information (Course Brochure). This interest process enables the RTO and client to work together to ensure the course is suitable for them and to identify any additional support needs & make adequate provisions.
No pre-requisites exist for this Unit of Competency.
Training & Education Pathways: After achieving this unit of competency students may undertake a range of associated construction, resources, logistics and warehousing units and qualifications.
Employment Pathways: After achieving this unit of competency students may seek employment in warehousing, manufacturing, construction, resources and transport industries.
