CPR Training Course Overview

This nationally recognised course covers both theoretical and practical aspects of providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines, including however not limited to the below:

  • Recognise an emergency situation
  • Ensure safety for self, bystanders and casualty
  • Assess the casualty and recognise the need for CPR
  • Seek assistance from emergency services
  • Display respectful behavior towards casualty
  • Operate Automated External Defibrillator (AED) according to manufacturer’s Instructions
  • Accurately convey incident details to emergency services
  • Report details of incident in line with appropriate workplace or site procedures
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of information in line with statutory and/or organisational policies

Target Audience

This course is recommended for people working in or who will be working in operational roles who are undertaking a role which may require them to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The core groups / large clients for this unit are existing workers.

Course Delivery

Face to face training and assessment is conducted at one of Link Resources purpose built training facilities. Upon arrangement, training and assessment can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.

Outcomes of CPR Training

Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Link Resources Training Pty Ltd (RTO 45483).

Entry Requirements

All students must be literate in the English language (no interpreters allowed).

All students must be physically capable to Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for 2 minutes non-stop, on an adult manikin on the ground floor.

At enquiry, students can enter the program by expressing an interest and being sent an information pack that contains a booking notification and course information (Course Brochure). This interest process enables the RTO and client to work together to ensure the course is suitable for them and to identify any additional support needs & make adequate provisions.

No pre-requisites exist for this unit of competency.
