This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfil their role as a Health and Safety Representative (HSR) in Queensland. The role of the Health and Safety Representative (HSR) is primarily to liaise with other staff to identify health and safety issues and convey these to management. HSR’s are elected by fellow staff to represent the views of the staff group.
Employers are required to allow the HSR to take time off work to attend this training. Likewise, HSR’s are also entitled to attend HSR Refresher courses every twelve (12) months, commencing twelve (12) months after the initial five day course has been completed (as per Section 21 of the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (Qld).
The Health and Safety Representative (HSR) course is aimed at those who have been nominated to be the Health and Safety Representative in their organisation or company.
Face to face training and assessment is conducted at one of Link Resources purpose built training facilities. Upon arrangement, training and assessment can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.

Students who complete this course will receive a Statement of Attendance. The Statement is issued by Link Resources Training Pty Ltd.

Training & Education Pathways: After achieving these units of competency students may undertake a range of associated resources and infrastructure units and qualifications.
Employment Pathways: After achieving these units of competency students may seek employment in civil, construction, resources, manufacturing, utilities and maintenance industries.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the acknowledgement of a persons current skills and knowledge acquired through previous training, work or life experience.
Credit Transfer (CT) is the granting of credit to an individual for units of competency / modules previous completed.

For our public courses at our purpose built training facilities trainees must wear suitable clothing (t-shirt, pants and closed in footwear as a minimum).
