Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a GWO-certified Basic Safety Training (BST) certificate, which is internationally recognised and valid for two years.

Course delivery

GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) is delivered face-to-face over four days at one of Link Resources’ purpose-built training centres. The course combines theory with hands-on practical learning, giving participants the skills to apply safe work practices in real situations. Training and assessment can also be delivered on-site at client locations upon request, provided suitable facilities and equipment are available.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Work safely at heights using appropriate safety equipment and procedures
  • Understand and apply manual handling techniques to reduce injury risk
  • Identify and respond to fire hazards in wind turbine environments
  • Operate fire suppression equipment and apply basic firefighting techniques
  • Perform first aid and CPR in emergency scenarios

A GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) – Initial ticket is valid for two years from the date of completion. After that, participants need to complete the GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher (BSTR) to keep their certification current.

You can register for your WINDA ID for free through the Global Wind Organisation website before enrolling. It only takes a few minutes and allows your certification to be verified globally once you complete the course.

GWO stands for Global Wind Organisation, an internationally recognised body that sets the training standards for wind industry workers. GWO certification ensures your training meets global safety benchmarks and is accepted by employers and wind farm operators around the world.
