Course details

This nationally recognised 4WD Driving Training provides both theoretical and practical skills for operating a four-wheel-drive vehicle on unsealed roads. It covers preparation, including vehicle manufacturer information, vehicle differences, safety checks, and the use of suitable personal protective equipment. Participants will learn how to adjust tyre pressure, engage four-wheel drive, and navigate hazards while maintaining the intended vehicle path and control on unsealed roads.

The training also includes slope negotiation, vehicle control functions, traction control, and appropriate braking methods. The theoretical and practical components also include a variety of vehicle recovery techniques, minor repairs, and vehicle maintenance in our Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, and Tasmania locations.

Please note: the price of our 4WD training course includes 4WD vehicle hire. You don’t need to worry about arranging a vehicle separately as it’s all covered in the course fee. If you prefer to use your own vehicle, you are welcome to do so providing it is compliant and has all of the required equipment.
