The target audience for the RIIMPO320F – Conduct Civil Construction Excavator Operations course primarily includes individuals interested in pursuing a career in the civil construction industry as excavator operators.
This comprehensive excavator training course is designed to cater to participants with varying levels of experience, from beginners who have little to no knowledge of operating excavators to experienced operators looking to formalise their skills and obtain industry-recognised qualifications.
Students deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment for RIIMPO320F – Conduct Civil Construction Excavator Operations, recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This excavator ticket is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Link Resources Training Pty Ltd (RTO 45483).
In Queensland, no specific licence is required to operate an excavator. However, to guarantee safety and competency, it is recommended that you undergo training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). This training leads to a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit RIIMPO320F—Conduct civil construction excavator operations.
Face-to-face training and assessment are conducted at one of Link Resources’ purpose-built training facilities. Upon arrangement, onsite training and assessment can be conducted at the premises of industry clients, providing suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.

All candidates must be literate in the English language (no interpreters allowed).
At the enquiry, students can enter the program by expressing an interest and being sent an information pack that contains booking confirmation, course information (Course Brochure), Self-Paced Learning Resources and LLN assessment. This interest process enables the RTO and client to work together to ensure the course is suitable for them and to identify any additional support needs & make adequate provisions.

However, if you’re looking to operate in mining environments, additional training may be required, such as the RIIMPO301E – Conduct Hydraulic Excavator Operations, which is specifically tailored for mining applications.
You don’t need a licence to operate an excavator, but you must demonstrate competency in its operation. While it’s a unit of competency, it’s often referred to as an excavator licence course because it provides the same hands-on training and assessment as obtaining a licence.However, exceptions may apply, especially for equipment used in the mining industry.
