Course Overview

This 4wd Driving Training nationally recognised course covers both theoretical and practical aspects of how to operate and maintain a four-wheel-drive vehicle in a variety of industries. This delivery includes a very thorough practical including how to perform numerous checks (e.g pre/post-start, break, and engine) and how to use the many features of a four-wheel-drive vehicle. The 4wd Training course is delivered all in accordance with road rules and principles of four-wheel driving under WHS regulations. The theoretical and practical components also include a variety of vehicle recovery techniques, minor maintenance, and vehicle repairs in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, and Tasmania Location..

Target Audience

4wd training course unit is suitable for all personnel who may be required to operate 4WD vehicles on unsealed roads in various terrains and conditions.

Self Paced Learning

Students are required to complete Self-paced learning for these Units of Competency.

Upon booking Students will receive an email Booking Confirmation, Course Information (Course Brochure) with the Student Manual and a LLN Assessment & Challenge Test attached. The Student shall read the Student Manual and complete the LLN Assessment & Challenge Test prior to the face to face component of the course. These LLN Assessments & Challenge Tests will be reviewed by the Trainer / Assessor upon commencement of the face to face component of the training.

Course Delivery

Face to face training and assessment is conducted at one of Link Resources purpose-built 4wd training facilities. Upon arrangement, training and assessment can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.

Outcomes

Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Link Resources Training Pty Ltd (RTO 45483).

Entry Requirements

All students must be literate in the English language (no interpreters allowed).

Operators must have the appropriate class of driver’s licence before taking charge of the vehicle and be physically capable of operating the vehicle.

At enquiry, students can enter the program by expressing an interest and being sent an information pack that contains booking confirmation, course information (Course Brochure), Self-Paced Learning Resources and LLN assessment. This interest process enables the RTO and client to work together to ensure the course is suitable for them and to identify any additional support needs & make adequate provisions.

No pre-requisites exist for these Units of Competency.

Training & Education Pathways: After achieving these units of competency students may undertake a range of associated resources and infrastructure units and qualifications.

Employment Pathways: After achieving these units of competency students may seek employment or additional responsibilities as a vehicle operator in various industries.

Recognition Of Prior Learning And Credit Transfer

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the acknowledgement of a persons current skills and knowledge acquired through previous training, work or life experience.

Credit Transfer (CT) is the granting of credit to an individual for units of competency / modules previous completed.

Equipment & PPE Requirements

Link Resources supply all equipment necessary for all students to undertake training and encourage students to bring along their own relevant equipment, procedures and other information.

For our public courses at our purpose built training facilities trainees must wear suitable clothing (t-shirt, pants and closed in footwear as a minimum).
