Breathing apparatus is essential equipment in these conditions, and workers who wear it need to be trained to operate, maintain, and rely on it correctly.

Delivered from our Warana training facility on the Sunshine Coast, Link Resources’ breathing apparatus course is a practical, half-day session covering pre-use checks, correct donning and operation, hazard identification, and safe shutdown procedures. You’ll leave with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment and the skills to operate breathing apparatus safely in high-risk environments.

• Donning, operating, and closing down breathing apparatus correctly
• Identifying hazards and applying control measures
• Communication techniques while using breathing apparatus
• Calculating available working time from the apparatus
• Cleaning, maintenance, and reporting faults or damage
• Understanding irrespirable atmospheres and their effects on the body
• Components and function of breathing apparatus
• Following SOPs, safe work practices, and entrapment procedures
• Use of personal lines, tallies, and breathing apparatus control systems

Assessment includes both written and practical components assessed to national competency standards.
