As renovation, maintenance, and demolition activity continues across Adelaide and regional SA, the demand for workers trained in safe non-friable asbestos removal remains consistent. SafeWork SA requires anyone removing non-friable asbestos in the workplace to be supervised by, or hold, a Class B asbestos removal licence.

Non-friable asbestos is asbestos that is firmly bound in a solid matrix and cannot be crumbled by hand. It is found in cement sheeting, fibre cement products, vinyl floor tiles, textured coatings, and some roofing materials. It is also referred to as bonded asbestos.
In South Australia, removing more than 10 square metres of non-friable asbestos requires a Class B asbestos removal licence issued by SafeWork SA. Completing CPCCDE3028 is the required training step before applying for that licence.
