Pathways

Training & Education Pathways

For those currently using, or looking to progress into, chainsaw work involving more complex tree felling tasks, the next step is:

  • FWPCOT3347 – Fell trees manually (intermediate)

This unit builds on the foundations established in Chainsaw Level 1 and is suited to operators who are ready to move beyond trimming and processing already felled timber. It covers planning and carrying out manual tree felling in more challenging conditions, including assessing lean, defects, site constraints and environmental factors.

Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Link Resources Training Pty Ltd (RTO 45483).

Employment Pathways

These units support employment opportunities across arboriculture, forestry, agriculture, civil construction, utilities and maintenance sectors.

Chainsaw Level 1 training is suited to workers involved in vegetation management, land clearing, fencing, rural operations and general site-based roles where chainsaw use forms part of daily tasks.

If you are unsure which chainsaw or forestry units suit your current role or the type of work you plan to move into, our team can help you map out the right training pathway.
