Health & Safety Representative Training Course Overview

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfil their role as a Health and Safety Representative (HSR) in Queensland. The role of the Health and Safety Representative (HSR) is primarily to liaise with other staff to identify health and safety issues and convey these to management. HSR’s are elected by fellow staff to represent the views of the staff group.

Employers are required to allow the HSR to take time off work to attend this training. Likewise, HSR’s are also entitled to attend HSR Refresher courses every three (3) years, commencing three (3) years after the initial five day course has been completed (as per Section 21 of the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (Qld).

Target Audience

The Health and Safety Representative (HSR) course is aimed at those who have been nominated to be the Health and Safety Representative in their organisation or company.

Course Delivery

Face to face training and assessment is conducted at one of Link Resources purpose built training facilities. Upon arrangement, training and assessment can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.

Outcomes of Health & Safety Representative Training

Students who complete this course will receive a Statement of Attendance. This non Nationally Accredited Statement is issued by Link Resources Training Pty Ltd.

Entry Requirements

All students must be literate in the English language (no interpreters allowed).

At enquiry, students can enter the program by expressing an interest and being sent an information pack that contains a booking notification and course information (Course Brochure). This interest process enables the RTO and client to work together to ensure the course is suitable for them and to identify any additional support needs & make adequate provisions.
