Course Overview

This combined course is designed to provide participants with comprehensive training in rescue operations, confined space rescue techniques, and the safe operation of breathing apparatus. This course equips participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively respond to emergency situations involving rescue operations in confined spaces.

Target Audience

The target audience for this combined course includes individuals who are involved in or aspire to be involved in rescue operations, confined space rescue, and the operation of breathing apparatus. The course is suitable for Emergency Response Personnel, Safety Officers and Supervisors, Industrial Workers, Rescue Team Members, and Occupational Health and Safety Professionals.

Course Delivery

Face to face training and assessment is conducted at one of Link Resources purpose built training facilities. Upon arrangement, training and assessment can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there a suitable infrastructure and industry training facilities.

Outcomes

Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Link Resources Training Pty Ltd (RTO 45483).

Entry Requirements

To successfully to participate in and complete this course, Link Resources Training require all candidates to meet the following:

Candidates must have successfully completed within the last two years the following units of competency (you will be required to provide a copy)

RIIWHS202E Enter and work in confined spaces

OR

MSMPER205 Enter confined spaces

AND

RIIWHS204E Work safely at heights

Candidates must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language (no interpreters allowed).

Candidates must be physically capable of performing entry and work in confined spaces (physical tasks) while wearing SCBA weighing up to 12kg.

Due to the physical performance requirements of this unit, all students are to have a reasonable level of mental and physical fitness.

People with back, leg, arm or joint injuries may find it difficult to climb / access the practical area and perform activities at height. (Please note that students must be physically capable of wearing a harness and climbing for significant periods of time).

At enquiry, students can enter the program by expressing an interest and being sent an information pack that contains a booking notification and course information (Course Brochure). This interest process enables the RTO and client to work together to ensure the course is suitable for them and to identify any additional support needs & make adequate provisions.

Participants should have a basic understanding of workplace health and safety principles and be physically capable of performing rescue operations and wearing breathing apparatus.
